Client Comments

The process of rearranging your plants can make a striking difference for the garden. It is truly rewarding to place worthy specimens in a way that breathes new life into the entire arrangement.

This need not be a grand project: transplanting a few shrubs and perennials, or pruning overgrown shrubs to bring them back into scale will often do the trick.

Design

We offer a variety of services including:

Design . Plant Selection . Renovation . Maintenance

I enjoy the satisfaction of making a difference . . . one of the truly rewarding aspects of the work is the instant gratification derived from working on the properties. It always looks better when we're done because the results are visible. The garden is well-groomed by having been correctly pruned, weeded, cut back to flush out again during the growing season, serenely cut back for winter, or made freshly ready for spring.

  • Creation of perennial beds, sun or shade gardens, shrub borders, and vegetable gardens.
  • Design of low-maintenance garden areas, herb gardens, and four-season interest beds.
  • Terrace, deck, and patio plantings that provide interest throughout the year.
  • Container plantings for Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

Plant Selection

By regularly working on a property we gain an intimate knowledge of the conditions that are present including lighting, soil, drainage, and animal presence (deer, rabbits, etc.), and are able to make better suggestions regarding suitable plants and placement.

Plant selections are based on practical and aesthetic consideration, with your needs in mind.

A broad working knowledge of annuals, bulbs, herbs, perennials, vines, and woody plant materials is utilized to create pleasing garden spaces for your property. This knowledge is valuable when working with you to solve questions as to what to do in challenging sites such as deer-populated areas, moist soils, dry locales, and slopes. Perhaps there are particular qualities you would like to incorporate into your garden—fragrance, color, attracting birds or butterflies. There are many plants to choose from to achieve your goals.
