About Karen

Plants have always been a major part of my life, and my experience has progressed from one aspect of horticulture to another.

During high school I had the privilege of working with the Pennsylvania Horticulture Society on the prestigious Philadelphia Flower Show. I earned a BS in Ornamental Horticulture from Delaware Valley College while working in green houses and within the retail nursery industry. Following college I gained invaluable experience working in interior plantscaping and as a designer for Robertson's Florist in Philadelphia.

Presently, I partner with talented individuals as the scope of specific projects dictate. Each member of the team brings unique abilities and ideas from their background in arts, as well as years of hands-on horticulture experience. They offer a keen aesthetic eye and a love of nature and gardening translates to optimum care for your plants.

In Spring 1997 I redesigned the front entry and foundation garden beds for a client in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania. Karen Levy Garden Design was born as an expedient and straight-forward name for the services I offer. The moniker has stuck ever since. By March 1997, after facing several life changes, it was a welcome decision to make gardening design my priority and I began offering services on a full-time basis.

Over time, I continued to seek out opportunities that allowed me to combine my enthusiasm for creativity and passion for horticulture until Karen Levy Garden Design was created as a natural expression of the services I offered clients.
